Texas patients now have access to full spectrum RSO in it's original form! Made with our proprietary indica-dominant strain Texas OG, Texas’ first RSO Oral Syringe gives patients a new, convenient way to experience relief through the Compassionate Use Program. Here is everything you need to know about how to use an RSO syringe.
What is RSO?
RSO or Rick Simpson Oil is a whole plant extract that contains cannabinoids, flavonoids and other potentially beneficial compounds from the cannabis plant. Many patients choose RSO for its full-spectrum profile, where compounds may interact in a way known as the entourage effect. This theory suggests that when compounds from the plant are combined, they may work holistically to enhance the overall therapeutic experience (André et al., 2024; Russo, 2019).
In several preclinical cancer models, whole-plant cannabis extracts demonstrated stronger anti-tumor effects than single cannabinoids alone (Tomko et al., 2020). Researchers suggest that the additional cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids in full-spectrum extracts may complement each other and reinforce their therapeutic potential.
What is an RSO Syringe?
Administered with a blunt-tipped syringe applicator for oral ingestion, an RSO Syringe allows patients to measure and consume Rick Simpson Oil conveniently. Since RSO preserves many of the plant's natural components, it carries a more complete profile of the strain. The oil itself is thick with an earthy flavor that closely reflects the aroma of the cannabis plant.

How to Use an RSO Syringe
Review the dosing on your RSO Syringe and the dosing guidelines provided by your physician. Consult your physician if you have any questions about your dose or treatment plan. To administer your dose:
1. Open the Box
Press and hold the cutout on the back of the box, then pull out the tray.
2. Warm the Oil
With the cap intact, gently rub the syringe between your hands for about 30 seconds to one minute to warm the oil. You can also submerge the capped syringe in a cup of warm (not hot) water for 20–30 seconds. Dry it before removing the cap.
3. Measure Your Dose
Unscrew the cap from the applicator tip. Slowly press down on the plunger to dispense the oil while watching the graduation marks on the barrel. Each graduation line equals 0.01 mL (about half the size of a small grain of dry rice) and contains between 7 – 9 milligrams of THC. If the oil feels too thick, you can use a toothpick to help remove it from the tip.
4. Take Your Dose
RSO can be placed directly under the tongue and held for 30–90 seconds before swallowing, or it can be added to food such as a cracker, cookie, or apple slice if you prefer to mask its earthy flavor.
Onset time for RSO depends on factors like metabolism, body composition, tolerance and more. RSO is a concentrated cannabis oil, so patients should start at the smallest dose as directed by their physician.
What Is the Difference Between the Rso Oral Syringe and the Distillate Oral Syringe from Texas Original?
Our Distillate Oral Syringe contains a refined and purified cannabis extract with only the intended cannabinoids, such as THC or CBD. Our RSO Oral Syringe contains a full-spectrum oil that includes many of the compounds of the cannabis plant, like cannabinoids, flavonoids and other potentially beneficial compounds. Like all Texas Original products, our medical-grade oral syringes are regulated and rigorously tested to ensure quality, consistency and purity.
What Terpenes Are in Texas OG?
Texas OG is an indica-dominant cannabis strain grown in-house at our state-of-the-art facility in Bastrop. The primary terpenes in this proprietary strain are alpha-pinene and beta-myrcene, which contribute to the smell and taste associated with cannabis.
Is RSO Legal in Texas?
RSO is legal in Texas under the Compassionate Use Program. Texans can get a medical cannabis prescription from a physician for more than 150 qualifying conditions, such as chronic pain, PTSD, or Crohn's disease.
