What to Know About RSO Syringes

How do I administer the medicine?

Review the dosing on your RSO Syringe and the dosing guidelines provided by your physician. Consult your physician if you have any questions about your dose or treatment plan.

RSO is a concentrated cannabis oil, so patients should start at the smallest dose as directed by their physician.

  1. Warm the Oil: With the cap of the syringe intact, gently rub the syringe between your hands for 30 seconds to one minute to warm the oil. Alternatively, you can hold the syringe in your hands for one minute or submerge the capped syringe into a cup of warm (not hot) water for 20-30 seconds. Dry before uncapping.
  2. Measure Your Dose: Unscrew the cap from the applicator tip. Gently push the syringe down one graduation to dispense the oil. Each line on the syringe is one graduation, or 0.01 mL.The amount dispensed should be about the size of half a grain of dry rice.
  3. Take Your Prescribed Dose: The RSO oil may be added to a food, such as a cracker or cookie. This may be a preferred option if you do not like the flavor of the oil. The RSO oil may also be taken sublingually by placing the oil under the tongue and holding for 30-90 seconds before swallowing.

What is RSO?

RSO is short for Rick Simpson Oil. Rick Simpson is a Canadian engineer and cannabis advocate who created a full-spectrum (also known as a whole-plant extract) cannabis oil after a work accident caused a variety of health issues. Full spectrum extract includes all the cannabinoids, flavonoids, proteins and other potentially beneficial compounds of the plant.

What's the difference between distillate and RSO/full spectrum extract?

Distillate is a refined and purified extract containing only the intended cannabinoids, such as THC or CBD. RSO is a full-spectrum oil containing all the compounds of the cannabis plant including cannabinoids, flavonoids and other potentially beneficial compounds.

What type of strain is the RSO?

Our RSO is extracted from our Texas OG strain, grown locally at our state-leading facility. Texas OG is a THC-dominant indica strain.
